Central District All Star Wrestling Preview
Corey Hinkle (112), Andrew Place (145), Brandon Cochran (160), and Cody Beatty (189) were all selected to compete in the Central District All Star Match on November 22nd at Hilliard Darby HS. This was an exhibition match that pitted the best Division I Wrestlers against the best Division II and III Wrestlers in the area. The Comets will open their regular season schedule at the Franklin Heights Tournament on December 3rd.

Jan. 6 v Worthington Kilbourne
The Wrestling Team kicked off their OCC schedule with a 64-9 win over Worthington Kilbourne. The Comets also competed against Bishop Ready in a non-conference match. The Wrestling Team finished 5th out of 33 teams at the prestigious Wadsworth "Grizzly" Invitational tournament. Dec. 18 v Pick. North Classic
The Wrestlers competed at the Panther Duals held at Pickerington North HS this past weekend. The Comets finished 4-0-1 on the day defeating Columbus West 56-9, Chillicothe 62-9, Teays Valley 47-25, Erie McDowell (Pa.) 33-27 in the semi-finals, and tied Westerville North 32-32 in the championship match. Dec. 11 v Dublin Scioto Tournament
The Wrestling Team traveled to Dublin Scioto over the weekend (Dec. 11th) and faced off against some of the best teams in the Columbus area. No team results were recorded as the Comets walked away with three individual champions in Corey Hinkle (103), James Jones (152), and Matt Place (171). - Report by Coach VanGundy.

Dec. 4 v Franklin Heights Tournament
The Wrestling Team started off their season by winning the Franklin Hts. Tournament. Finishing second was Maple Hts. (out of Cleveland), finishing third was Grove City followed by Centerville (located near Dayton), Thomas Worthington, Columbus West, Columbus Beechcroft, and Franklin Hts. It was truly a team effort as everyone contributed to the tournament title. Finishing as individual champions on the day was Nick Perry, James Jones, and Matt Place. 11 out the 14 wrestlers placed in the top 4 in their respective weight classes.
