There were 160 seventeen year old teams from all over the nation participating in this event. After a grueling plane trip full of delays and layovers, her team then had to play the #5 team in the nation (KIVA out of Louisville, KY) on 3 hours of sleep. They lost but had a good showing in front of numerous college scouts from across the nation. The first day her team went 1-2 which dropped them into the bottom half of the tournament but they then went on to win 5 consecutive matches placing them 81st out of 160 ending with a record of 6-2. After dropping into the lower bracket after the first day they finished the best they could have which was winning the lower bracket. Great job Laurie!
