The Comets played well, but fell just short. They got a great
pitching performance from Payne Davis who threw a complete
game. Joel Mefford led the way at the plate by going 1-3 and
had both RBI's. Also with hits were Jake Duffy, Payne Davis,
Adam Hatton, and Tommy Black. JV: Central Crossing
11 Westerville South 7. Zach Evans started the game
on the mound and pitched three innings. Cody McManaway pitched
four innings to earn the win on the mound. Leading the way
at the plate was Zach Evans with three hits and three RBI's.
Tyler Vanderwerf also had two hits.

also had an RBI for the Comets.

game to earn the win on the mound. Leading the team at the
plate was Brad Arnold with two hits, Aaron Dempsey, Bobby
Tharp and Cody Cook also chipped in with hits.

On Saturday against Grove City, Jake Duffy, Kevin Lanning,
Landon Weiging, and Tommy Black each had a hit with Weiging
adding 2 rbi's. Payne Davis and Landon Weiging pitched for
the comets. Kevin Lanning pitched to get the win over Franklin
Heights and had 13 strikeouts. Simon Davis, Kevin Lanning,
Landon Weiging, Adam Taylor, and Joel Mefford each had 2 hits.
JV: Central Crossing 1 Grove City 1. Central Crossing 25 Franklin
Heights 6. Against Groce City, Cody McManaway pitched a complete
game. Zach Evans lead the team at the plate with 2 hits including
a double and the lone RBI. In the second game Tyler Vanderwerf
and Jeff Herman pitched and Brad Arnold lead the team at the
plate with 4 hits and 7 RBI's. Cody Cook, Bobby Tharp and
Andy Buechner each had two hits.

The first game against Marion Franklin was won by Adam Hatton
on the mound. Joel Mefford went 1-2 with 4 rbi's and Tommy
Black went 1-2 with 2 rbi's and James Schmidt added 2 rbi's
as well. In the second game against Marion-Franklin, Simon
Davis went 2-3 and Matt Lindsey went 2-2 with 2 rbi's. Getting
the win on the mound was Tommy Black. JV: Central Crossing
22 Marion Franklin 1. Andy Buechner pitched a complete game
to earn the win. Leading the way at the plate was Tyler Vanderwerf
with 4 hits including 3 doubles, Aaron Dempsey chipped in
with 3 hits and Bobby Tharp had 2 hits.

Landon Weiging, and Adam Taylor. JV: Central Crossing 7 Jonathon
Alder 5. Bobby Tharp pitched a complete game and had 7 strikeouts.

Davis pitched the entire game to pick up the win and went
1-4 at the plate and scored 2 runs. Also adding hits were
Adam Hatton, Kevin Lanning, Tommy Black, Landon Weiging, and
Simon Davis who also scored a run and had an rbi. JV: The
JV Baseball Team beat Delaware Hayes last night 10-5. Zach
Evans started the game on the mound and Cody Brent Pitched
the last four innings to earn the win. Leading the team at
the plate was Cody Brent with 4 hits, Zach Evans with 3 hits,
Tyler Vanderwerf and Cody Cook Each with 2 hits. This pushes
the JV Team's Record to 8 wins and 5 loses.

Central Crossing 1 Worthington Kilbourne 3
The Varsity Baseball Team lost 3-1 last night to Worthington
Kilbourne who is ranked 5th in the state. Adam Taylor pitched
a great game on the mound and went the distance for the Comets.
At the plate, Adam Hatton and Chris Lowe had 2 hits apiece.
Also, Landon Weiging had a double and scored the teams only
run while Tommy black had a hit for the teams only RBI of
the game. Freshman:
The Frosh Baseball Team picked up a win last night in OCC
play, defeating Worthington Kilbourne 18-8. Leading hitters
for the Comets were Andrew Long with a double and 4 RBI's,
George Balut was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 runs, and 3 RBI's
and Ben Nguyen was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 runs and 4 RBI's.
Nick Helwagen picked up the win giving up 2 runs on one hit
and striking out two.

Varsity Baseball Team beat Briggs last night 8-0. Leading
the way on the mound was Kevin Lanning who pitched all 7 innings
and recorded 10 strikeouts. At the plate, the Comets were
led by Tommy Black who went 3-3 with a double and Adam Taylor
who went 2-2 with a double. Also with 2 hits at the plate
were Joel Mefford and Payne Davis. Each had a double as well.

The JV
Baseball team has won two game in the last two days pushing
their record to 7 wins and 2 loses. Last night they beat Briggs
15-1. Zach Evans pitched a complete game and struck out ten
batters. Leading hitters were Cody Brent with three hits,
including two doubles, Simon Davis, Bobby Tharp, and Zach
Evans each with two hits.

2-4 at the plate with a triple, a home run, and had 3 rbi's
as well as pitching 5 solid innings. Jake Duffy, Landon Weiging,
and Kevin Lanning each had 2 hits. Also hitting home runs
beside Davis were Kevin Lanning, Chris Lowe, and Vaughn Klein.
JV: The JV baseball team won last night beating Mt. Vernon
20-18. This pushes their record to 5-1. Tommy Black started
on the mound, Aaron Dempsey, Zach Evans and Tyler Vanderwerf
also pitched. Leading the way at the plate was Tommy Black
and Simon Davis, each with four hits. Brad Arnold had three
hits including a homerun. Aaron Dempsey and Tyler Vanderwerf
chipped in with two hits a piece.

with 2 doubles. Also, Kevin Lanning went 2-4 while Joel Mefford
went 1-3 with a bases loaded double to knock in 3 runs. Mefford
ended the night with 4 RBI's. Kevin Lanning started on the
mound and Payne Davis came in relief of Lanning to finish
the game. The Comets drop their record to 1-2-1. JV: Central
Crossing 10 Delaware Hayes 9. The game was one in the bottom
of the seventh inning on a base hit by Kevin Badgley. Brad
Arnold Started the game pitching and Cody Brent pitched the
last four innings. Leading the team at the plate was Brad
Arnold with two hits, Jeff Herman with a double and Tyler
Vanderwerf with a hit, 2RBI's and 3 runs scored.
