ATHLETIC BOOSTER MEETING

March 1, 2006

 

CALL TO ORDER

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:59 p.m.

 

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR REPORT

 

-Ryan McClure advised the group of the following:

o       A link is being added to the Centralcrossingcomets.com website for the Athletic Booster Scholarships Applications. A 5 person committee will be formed to review the Applications.

o       A link is also being added to the Centralcrossingcomets.com website that will show all NCAA guidelines.  Ryan suggested that anyone interested should download the information because requirements are changing so you will want to stay informed.  There is also a worksheet for Division I and II.  If anyone has questions regarding these guidelines, they should contact Ryan directly.

o       CCHS is looking for a Boys Soccer Coach.  A posting for this job will be added to the “Ohio High School Athletic Association” website.

o       2 CCHS wrestlers will be going to the State wrestling meet this week.  The team has been very successful this year and the Boosters wish them good luck at the State meet.

o       Ryan advised the Athletic Boosters of the following cuts scheduled for 2006-2007.  Elimination of Assistant Athletic Director, Eliminations of 1 Assistant Football Coach, 1 Assistant Wrestling Coach, ½ Assistant Girls Basketball Coach, ½ Assistant Boys Basketball Coach, and 1 Assistant Track Coach.

 

 

COACHES REPORTS

 

-Coach Emmelhamz advised that Volleyball weight lifting is in progress.  She also gave an overview of the CCYA Club Program that just began this week.  There are 106 kids (ages 9-18) signed up and there are currently 11 teams.  The practices and games are being held at CCHS and Big Run.  The first practice was held on March 1st and they are still in need of 1 coach.  Many of the Volleyball Tournaments will be held at CCHS and Coach Emmelhamz is asking that the Boosters run the Concession stands during these tournaments.  The dates of the tournaments are March 12th, 25th, 26th and April 29th and 30th.  There is also a coach’s clinic June 9th-11th. 

 

MINUTES

 

MOTION by Vicki Evans, seconded by Kathy Barber to approve the February 1, 2006 CCHS Athletic Boosters meeting minutes as presented.  MOTION APPROVED.

 

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

 

MOTION by Jim Thielen, seconded by Steve Gatsch, to approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented.  MOTION APPROVED.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

            Concessions

-         CCHS will be holding a Basketball Tournament March 3rd, 4th and 5th..  Concession workers will be needed and a sign up sheet was passed around.

 

            Fund Raising

-         Pam Cox advised that she made contact with Harry Stratton about the boosters holding a Texas Holdem Tournament this year.  Harry reserved the date of May 19th and 20th.  Six volunteers will be needed to night.  Pam will get additional details from Harry (confirm dates, location, etc….) She will also be creating a flyer that can be distributed by Booster Members.

 

Membership Committee

-         Barb Holbrook has been helping Dave Moore with this committee.  Gary Evans volunteered to assist with this committee.  Barb with get with Dave to discuss.  The group is happy to have additional help with this committee. 

 

OLD BUSINESS

-         No old business

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

-          Vicki Evans brought up an idea for a possible fundraiser, a Reverse Raffle.  More details to follow.   

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

The next CCHS Athletic Boosters meeting will be held April 5, 2006 at 7:00 at CCHS.
